THE MIRRORLESS LEICA SL IS POISED TO USHER IN A NEW ERA OF PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Made for professional photographers, the new mirrorless Leica SL is a full-frame shooter boasting a number of performance features: a 24-megapixel CMOS sensor, Maestro II processor, an ISO range of up to 50,000, WiFi for remote access, and a weather-sealed body, milled from solid blocks of aluminum. There’s also the matter of the new 4.4-megapixel (60 fps) electric viewfinder, which Leica claims is the highest resolution EVF on the market. Additional features include an 11 fps continuous shooting mode and max mechanical shutter speeds of 1/8,000, along with 1080p and 4K video, with the latter capable of handling 24 and 30 fps. In terms of lenses, the SL uses the Leica L mount, with the Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm f/2.8-4 launching alongside the camera. Two more will hit the market in 2016. As for the camera itself, expect a November 16 release date.
