Audi has finally made an official information about the newly developed RS5. Powered by 4.2 liter V8 producing 331 KW/444 HP/450 PS and 430 Nm of torque. Synchronized to an S tronic transmission delivering 1 – 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and maxing out at 250 km/h (155 mph). For those who want more power, Audi can remove the speed limiter to allow the car to fly at 280 km/h (174 mph). Even though this vehicle seem to drink lots of fuel, it maintains a 10.8 liter of petrol per 100 km or 21.78 US mpg.
To power to ground the RS5 is equipped with a new crown-gear center differential which enables the control of distribution of torque between front and rear axles. When necessary up to 70 percent of torque can be put on to the front or inversely as much as 85 percent can be put on to the rear. In a nutshell this new system will aid in traction and aids cornering allowing great overall handling. Aggressive body kits are wrapped around the RS5 along with a reduced ride height, 19 inch alloy wheels and twin exhaust system. Interior is given a premium treatment with sports seats, steering wheel and carbon fiber, aluminum and piano black accents.
At this time, the RS 5 is not planned for the USA.
